Botox & dermal fillers — by a dentist who knows facial anatomy intimately.
Dental training gives Dr. Anand something most facial-esthetics providers don't have: detailed mastery of the entire facial anatomy — bones, muscles, nerves, and the relationship between teeth, bite, jaw, and surrounding facial structures. That foundation is why so many patients prefer to receive Botox® and dermal fillers from a dentist trained at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE).
What we treat
Botox for TMJ & Jaw Tension
Therapeutic Botox injections relax overactive jaw muscles (masseter, temporalis) that drive teeth grinding, clenching, and TMJ pain. Many patients also notice a softer, slimmer jawline as a cosmetic side benefit. Results typically last 3-4 months.
Botox for Migraine & Tension Headaches
FDA-approved for chronic migraine. Strategic injections in the forehead, temples, and back of head can dramatically reduce migraine frequency for many sufferers.
Cosmetic Botox
Smoothing forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows ("11s"), and crow's feet around the eyes. Subtle, natural-looking results — never "frozen."
Lip Fillers & Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid-based fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane families) to enhance lip volume, smooth nasolabial folds, restore cheek volume, or correct asymmetry. Dr. Anand uses conservative volumes for a natural look.
Gummy Smile Correction
A small dose of Botox in the upper lip area can reduce excessive gum display when smiling — a subtle, reversible alternative to surgery.
Why a dentist?
Dentists complete extensive training in facial anatomy in dental school — more hours studying the head and neck than any other healthcare professional except oral surgeons. Many of the same nerves and muscles relevant to dental anesthesia, TMJ care, and oral surgery are the targets for facial esthetic injections. Dr. Anand's AAFE training builds on that foundation with specific injection technique training.
What to expect at your appointment
- Consultation. We discuss your goals, evaluate the area, and recommend treatment with realistic expectations and a written estimate.
- Treatment. Takes 15-30 minutes. Topical numbing is used as needed. Most patients describe the sensation as quick pinches.
- Aftercare. Avoid lying flat for 4 hours, no strenuous exercise the rest of the day, no facial massage for 24 hours.
- Results. Botox develops over 3-7 days; full effect at 2 weeks. Fillers show immediate results, settling fully over 2 weeks.
Pricing
Botox is typically priced per unit ($12-$16/unit in central NJ). A typical cosmetic area uses 20-40 units. Dermal fillers are priced per syringe ($550-$850 depending on the filler). We provide written estimates before any treatment. Botox is not covered by dental insurance.
Important: safety first
Botox and fillers, while routine, can have side effects — bruising, asymmetry, allergic reactions. Choose a provider with formal training and adequate experience. Dr. Anand has AAFE training and uses only FDA-approved, brand-name products sourced through licensed US pharmaceutical distributors.
