Same-day emergency dental care in Somerville, NJ.

When a dental emergency hits, you should not have to wait. At NJ Dentales Group, we leave room in our schedule every day for urgent care so patients across Somerville, Bridgewater, Raritan, Hillsborough, and all of New Jersey can get relief fast. Dr. Anand's extensive experience with surgical extractions and complex cases means we handle most emergencies in-house without requiring an outside referral.

Common dental emergencies we treat

  • Severe toothache. Often a sign of infection or a deep cavity reaching the nerve โ€” fast treatment prevents the problem from getting worse.
  • Knocked-out tooth. Minutes matter. Call us immediately; a re-implanted tooth has the best chance within 30-60 minutes.
  • Cracked or broken tooth. Can range from cosmetic chips to fractures that expose the nerve.
  • Lost filling or crown. We can often replace or re-cement the same day.
  • Dental abscess or swelling. A serious infection that needs prompt treatment โ€” do not wait.
  • Broken dentures, retainers, or Invisalign trays.
  • Bleeding that will not stop after an extraction or injury.

What to do before you get to our office

๐Ÿฆท Knocked-out tooth

Handle it by the crown (not the root). Rinse gently with water. If possible, place it back in the socket โ€” or store in milk or saliva. Call us right away.

๐Ÿ˜ฃ Severe pain

Rinse with warm salt water. Take over-the-counter ibuprofen as directed. Apply cold compress outside the cheek. Avoid chewing on that side.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Broken tooth

Rinse your mouth. Save any pieces if possible. Cover sharp edges with dental wax or sugarless gum to protect your tongue.

๐Ÿฉธ Bleeding

Apply firm pressure with clean gauze for 15-20 minutes. If it will not stop, head to our office or an ER.

When to go to an ER instead

Most dental emergencies are best treated by a dentist โ€” but go to an emergency room immediately if you have: uncontrolled bleeding, severe facial swelling spreading to your eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a jaw you suspect may be broken.
