Welcome โ€” here is everything you need to know about your first visit.

We know choosing a new dentist can feel like a big decision. Our goal is to make your first appointment at NJ Dentales Group comfortable, informative, and free of surprises.

What happens at your first appointment

  1. Warm welcome (5 min). You will meet our front-desk team, fill out any paperwork we were not able to send in advance, and get a tour of the office.
  2. Comprehensive exam (20-30 min). Dr. Anand will review your medical and dental history, examine your teeth and gums, take digital X-rays if needed, and perform an oral cancer screening.
  3. Professional cleaning (30-45 min). Your hygienist will clean, polish, and floss your teeth โ€” and show you any techniques that could help your at-home routine.
  4. Discussion & plan (10 min). We review findings together, answer your questions, and if any treatment is needed, lay out options with transparent pricing.

Total first visit: typically 60-90 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes early if you have not completed paperwork in advance.

What to bring

  • Photo ID
  • Dental insurance card (if applicable)
  • List of current medications
  • Previous dental records or X-rays if you have them (we can also request them from your prior dentist)

Insurance & payment

We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans and will file your claim for you. If you do not have insurance or want to spread out costs, we offer 0% interest financing through CareCredit. Cash, check, and all major credit cards accepted.

For anxious or special-needs patients

We are a sensory-friendly practice. If you or your child experience dental anxiety, autism-spectrum sensitivity, or need accommodations for any reason, please let us know when you book โ€” we offer longer appointment windows, quiet-room options, noise-reducing headphones, and a step-by-step "tell, show, do" approach so there are no surprises. Dr. Anand has extensive training in caring for special-needs patients and veterans.

Need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens โ€” we just ask for 24 hours notice when possible so we can offer the time to another patient who needs it.
